Stripes

Over spring break, I worked in the dinning room. One day to chalk and tape the lines. Next day to paint them. Semi-gloss stripes on eggshell background. Yosemite Sand is the color. A lot of work!

HCC art & photo exhibit

Children and Art

Most of my uploads have been on the Daily Devotions blog. One special project I'm working on, is putting together a show of children's art and photos. I really enjoy working with this group of kids. It's lots of fun and I so enjoy watching them create. I've been taking pictures of them working and they will be part of the show too.

Jen's book -Colorerratica RR

This completes the RR for me. The last book returns to it's owner. I have one of mine, still waiting on the other which is in Postal Limbo. I'm sure it will eventually find it's way back.

Laundry room

I worked in the laundry room today. It's not done yet, but this is it so far.

The House project

For the past few weeks, I have been having an art class with the Children's Center in Harrison. They walk over to me for some art time. This is our third project. I gave them the black paper to build on. It was about shape recognition and size, emphasizing we were going from largest to smallest. I told them they can build anything they wish, but the majority built houses. This is not a surprize as the square/rectangle and triangle lends itself to it. I also wonder if it has to do with one child projecting the image of the house and the rest follow? One younger child went in the direction of a rocket ship (on left). I was impressed with what came later with the strips of paper I gave them. I gave them an example of what can be done by manipulting it various ways; curling, folding, bending... Last was the embellishment of flowers and butterflies.
These artworks and photos of them working will be exhibited in the town house during the month of April.

Alice's birthday

We celebrated my mother-in-laws birthday, her 90th!!!! She looks wonderful. It was really nice to get together with his family as we don't see each other very often. I had a great time.

Margaret's book

Scanned the book of Margarets. Color is better but got a shadow on the page. This is the last of this group. The other group I get one more. Then I just patiently wait for mine.

A new beginning

Getting frustrated uploading images from the scanner. On the DD365 blog, I have black background and wanted the background of the art to be black, as opposed to white. Right now I am using a black material to cover the work on the scanner. Need to figure how to crop and put them up. (Help)

I have the week to deal with the art room. My goal is to be able to work in the room. This is preparation for the Daily Devotion group...365 days of art. That artwork will be posted on another blog which I will post here once I begin.
I may have to post before and after photos just to get me motivated!
